Operate a boom type elevating work platform

Course Currency Status: (Release 1) Current
Course Overview: This course is designed to provide EWP operators with the skills and knowledge required to operate a boom type elevating work platform less than 11 metres boom length, in accordance with relevant state/territory licence/permit requirements and regulations, in a variety of operational contexts.
It includes inspecting and testing elevating work platforms, assessing job and work requirements, planning works and setting up for lift, and carrying out elevation. It also includes implementing planned hazard controls and strategies, and packing up work platform after operations.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this training course.
Target Audience: Workers who are required to perform work from an EWP or scissor lift.

Entry Requirements/What to Bring:
Participants must provide a USI number on enrolment and provide photographic identification on enrolment. Participants must provide and wear their own PPE for this course. This course contains safety critical information requiring participants have the ability to read, write and understand English and basic calculations.
Pre-requisites: Nil.

- Relevant road rules, regulations, permit and licence requirements for boom type elevating work platform operation
- Relevant WHS/OHS and environmental procedures and regulations
risks and hazards involved in operating a boom type elevating work - Platform and associated action that can be taken to eliminate or minimise the risk/hazards concerned
- Wind speed equipment capability (wind loading)
- Workplace procedures for operating a boom type elevating work platform less than 11 metres boom length, at a worksite.

Assessment
Assessment is a combination of written questions/answers and practical demonstrations
On Completion: Upon successful completion, participants will be issued with a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment for UETDRMP002 Apply ESI safety rules, codes of practice and procedures for work on or near electrical apparatus
